There are 98 single-family campsites mixed use and the campground has flush toilets and showers. The campsites are best suited for tents, but traipses and RVs up to 31 feet will work just fine. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill.
Trees provide shade to some sites. The campground also has an RV dump station, but there are no hookups here. Bodega Dunes campground has 18 campsites open year round, and all of the campground is open early May to October.
Sonoma State Beach features coastland with beaches, reefs, coves, tide pools, headlands, and natural arches. With more than ten miles of shore, 5, acres, this state beach is one of the largest in the state.
The park stretches from Bodega Head to the Russian River. There is a five-mile trail system in the dunes. In the winter, Bodega Head is one of the finest whale-watching sites on the North Coast. And remember campers — the western snow plover lives on the beach and it is an endangered species.
