Thread starter Alo0oy Start date May 11, Alo0oy Banned May 11, Raid matchmaking has been discussed ad nauseam since the game came out, we've heard every argument for and against Raid matchmaking, so let's discuss what's actually egregious in the MM system for the end game content, below are the end game activities in Destiny: Not to mention the fact that LFG websites have mostly people living in the US and EU, so if you're not from there, you'll have to deal with severe lag or the typical racists.
Whereas matchmaking would match you up from your region, reducing the headache you're going to have to deal with. We've heard the no mtachmaking for Raids arguments, but why is the game locking me "Destiny no matchmaking for prison of elders" of most of the end game content? Bungie is actively punishing people that only have an hour or two every day to play, or don't have 6 people that play Destiny, I only have one friend that plays Destiny, and he didn't even get to the end game yet, and I doubt he will.
No idea why they never had matchmaking for Nightfalls. Yohane Member May 11, At the Disco Member May 11, I thought Prison of Elders did have matchmaking?
I know for a fact Archon's forge does, but it uses the persistent matchmaking system that happens while travelling between zones so its ver unreliable.
Midas Member May 11, Karl Member May 11, Archon's Forge has matchmaking. RoboPlato I'd be in the dick May 11, At the Disco said: I'm convinced that the reason they didn't do it for the majority of this stuff is that they didn't put in group management tools for matchmaking groups, and thus didn't have a way to boot someone that was griefing or wasn't up to snuff.
All for match making everything outside of raids as long as I can still solo if I want. Fahzgoolin Banned May 11, Anyone have some experience Destiny no matchmaking for prison of elders the built in xbox live group finder? TheMan Member May 11, Always seemed beyond ridiculous that people had Destiny no matchmaking for prison of elders resort to 3rd party sites for MM for so many modes. This will always be destinys most glaring flaw, esp since it could easily be fixed.
ElNarez Banned May 11, Spukc Member May 11, What is an good argument against matchmaking for raids? Last time i checked wow it was a better game. Prison does, Challenge the scored variant does not. I feel like players who struggle to get to the lighthouse would have a better chance if there was random matchmaking only due to the fact you would have a bigger mix of shit teams and better odds of matching up with somebody really good, but that would only make it easier for the ones who stomp every game to do it better if you run into one.
WheelHoss1 Member May 11, People still play this? With life being so short and all. Deku Tree Member May 11, Well Bungie went their own way and took out MM for end game activities specifically because it often leads to a bad experience. They said "find your own friends to play with". And you know that Destiny continues to be a hugely played game long after other games populations have quickly evaporated I wonder if Bungie is on to something?
Besides OP try the if you don't have people you know to play with.
It is a great site. Marcel Member May 11, More options never hurt anyone other than the elitists. Syril Member May 11, Been saying this should of been done for Destiny since the beginning. I'd love to at least try them all out, even if I don't get far with randoms. Schlorgan Member May 11, I've just starting getting into this game again hadn't played since launch and I find the prospect of getting people together for the Raids to be really daunting.
I'd love to see an in-game example of an LFG experience that's better than the third
Destiny no matchmaking for prison of elders solutions on offer now. I can't imagine it. Not Spaceghost Spaceghost May 11, No match making is only okay when you have the proper social tools in your game to put together a group at a hub or something. Diablohead Member May 11, Destiny needed a built in make-a-room style system like PSO back in the day, let people join either with or without a pass and then go do team stuff together.
Matchmaking is fine for pvp Destiny no matchmaking for prison of elders some other stuff but having an open lobby for other things is sorely missing. DanielJr82 Member May 11, I would have played the game a lot more if it had matchmaking for the modes that actually gets you good loot.
M0nochromatic Member May 11, LTWood12 Member May 11, I'd love to watch a purely matchmade group attempt to complete Vosik and Aksis challenge modes. Seriously, i would like to watch that. If it's in-game it doesn't have to be better. You're immediately going to have more players aware of it, which means a larger potential pool of people to play with.
Rarius Member May 11, Raids not being in matchmaking was beyond stupid. I've always said this and will keep saying this, an ingame LFG is the best of both worlds. It allows people to quickly find other people while still ensuring that the player's you find are more dedicated to spending time than straight up matchmaking.
It might seem odd that there is even a difference between LFG and matchmaking considering the end result is the same but believe me when I say there is quite a bit of difference. Since LFG is an extra layer it's not as "disposable" and also because you can communicate before you even form a group. It'll be basically be like it is right now but with an ingame way to find a group. Darryl M R Member May 11, I think there should be mm for everything except for the raids.
BreezyLimbo Banned May 11, Corpekata Banned May 11, Aesthet1c Member May 11, They need to figure this crap out in Destiny 2.
I'm fine if they aren't going to allow matchmaking for raids, but they at least need to have some kind of social LFG tool so we can form pickup groups inside the game.
Hatefilled Vengeance Member May 11, It should be in everything as an option, including raids, with the proper tools to make it feasible. Have no faith in Bungie to fix their mistakes though.
