That's nice, Orron, I'm not religious either - that doesn't mean there aren't gay people that believe in God and desperately want to be recognized as such in a church.

The rest of your answer was social commentary. Billy - yeah, it's a sin.

we debate homosexual and heterosexual...

I would be ecstatic if my church finally opened up and allowed same-sex marriages. I'm straight and had no problem getting married within the church, but I think that it's important that all people who have found someone to love be allowed the chance to get married, if that's what they want.

If, on the other hand, the church voted against same-sex marriages, I would probably not switch denominations, but I would probably just leave my church-going practices completely. I don't think that same-sex marriages are a sin at all. The authority of Scripture- purely scripture interprets scripture, guy the RCC priesthood can not. We have self belief that we are all sinners and, "Elca heterosexual commitment ceremony" the aid of baptism, we are all saints. I hope and pray that many ELCA Lutherans will switch to Missouri Synod Lutheran Churches where the gospel is still preached and where they still take a Biblical stand against homosexuality and in favor of Biblical marriage.

Missouri Synod Lutherans also support a strong missions program and a large system of Christian schools. I think their Christian school network is second only to the Catholics. Both me and my guy have no plans of getting married.

We do Elca heterosexual commitment ceremony need society's permission or condoning of our relationship. We have made a commitment to eachother and that is enough. Traditional marriage is not my bag. I could think of nothing more embarrassing than both of us standing in front of an altar or even a judge infront of family and friends, or having two grooms on a wedding cake etc.

However there are homo-couples that are into that stuff, so more power to them. Yeah, I just heard about this.
